Aural illusion/Aura Sampler

Hi,

Is there anybody out there using the Aural illusion software,
which maybe the stuff bundled with the Aura 12bit sampler?
I’m interested in only the software for which I saw an advert
a few months ago and it appeared that Aural illusion, much
like a contemporary "Audio Engineer", would be a very useful
sample processing tool. I know it has a useful set of
conversion tools for format conversion, "passable" effects
generation and sound synthesis but its real asset is that
it operates on 8bit or 16bit samples.

Could anybody who is using the software share his or her
experiences with it.

Sheun.

Ghouls&Ghosts-Tim Follin

Does anyone know of any demo that ever contained the excellent
tunes from the game Ghouls and Ghosts.
Or perhaps the mods are available somewhere?

Cheers,
Tom

Roland disk format

Hi all,
anyone knows what is the format used by Roland D-20 synth? I tried to read
the disks as Amiga format, MSDOS 360KB and 320KB (The drive is single side).
No success, of course.
Any clue?

MIDI note player.

Hi,

A friend of mine is looking for a program that reads info from the
midiport and plays samples if certain note requests pass by.
My midi knowledge is close to 0 so I hope this is a bit clear :-)

Replies by email because I do not normally read this group.

Saving narrator.device output as 8SVX ?

Hi eveyone,

I have a slightly off the wall question : I have the CBM narrator.device and
SPEAK: mounted on my system, allowing the machine to talk etc.. using
say and speechtoy.

I was wondering, is there anyway of saving what the speech synth says as a
standard sound sample ??

I have tried loading up speechtoy, and then scanning memory for standard
sound samples, but this doesn’t seem to work : It’s a bit crazy that CBM
used to support a speech synth if it wasn’t in a standard IFF format –
everything else in the system is IFF.

This would be most useful, as I would like to play samples created with
speech toy on other machines here at work, and also attach them to system
events with the new version of ARQ 1.83 (?version?).

Many thanks,

Chris

Sample splitter?

Does anybody know of a program that will take BIG sound files (iff of
course), and spilt them up into smaller pieces?? I mean something that
will actually create iff-headers for each of the pieces so they are
standalone iff’s…. I was pondering making one, since I only have 4 megs
of RAM, and some of these samples are getting BIG!!

oh well, should be easy to write (thats what they ALL say).. :-)  but I
just didn’t want to re-invent the wheel…
