PatchMeister

PatchMeister is excellent. X-Or requires an intelligence way
beyond the abilities of mere Amiga users…

Startreker

Simple questions: How do you make Startreker to read modules from the
floppy drive?  Do I have to assign something like ‘assign st-00: df0:’
for Protracker?  Startreker doesn’t seem to have the set-up option/menu
like PT.  Do I miss something?

Thanks,

MusiTeX for Amiga?

Can anyone tell me if MusiTeX is available for the Amiga?
I’m not sure if this is just a macro package (in which case
the original Unix one runs straight away) or if it’s a truly
different version of TeX (in which case a ported version would
be needed).

Octamed

This may be a stupid question, but how does one go about changing
different settings like individual note volume, in octamed.  Also is
there any way to sample more than 100,000 bytes from within the program?

NoisePacker and Star Control II

Two questions…

1) Is there a PD utility which converts NoisePacker mods into NoiseTracker
format?  I’ve ripped something but I wanna digest the musical coding
   a bit and I simply can’t do this if it’s packed :) .

2) To those of you who entered something into the now-over Star Control II
MOD contest: Will any of you be kind enough to upload your pieces of
musical art to a site?  Or perhaps post it here?  I know MANY people who
are hysterically curious to hear your works!!!  Including myself! :)
Please do consider it!  I asked once before, but I don’t think people were
listening.  I KNOW some people have entered mods, so let’s have ‘em :) .

If you don’t want to, at least acknowledge that you did indeed enter a mod,
or at least considered entering one… That is, at least, better than
getting no response, as though I didn’t post this message at all.
("At least" are two words I use a lot, eh?  At least that’s how it turned
   out this time :) .

   Thanks for your time!

Best sound editor? (w/ effects?)

Hi!

I’m just wondering what the best sound editor is to manipulate sounds
that have already been stored.. It doesn’t need to have sampling
capabilities, but I would like it to be able to change the pitch along
with a few other neat things like flanging and things along that line..
Anyone have any suggestions? Also, please tell me where I might be able
to find this or these programs.

Thanks,
  Chris

*** Favorite Mods, and or Players ***

I just got an Amiga 3000 (good-bye 500! (Detachable keyboard and all)), and
more importantly, the hard drive that comes with it (well, lets not forget
the 2 Megs of Chip RAM and about 4 more of Fast (more when I get the cash))

Anyway, I am looking for the mods that people like the best (I asked
this a while ago, but I lost the disks of mods that I colleected from
various FTP sites), and the players they use.  In the Mods, I am looking
for the ones that people like the Best, you know, the ones that Other
people like as well (just kidding, if you are the only one that likes
a particular MOD, that O.K.  :) ), but you know, the kind of stuff that
you like to show off, or just sit and listen to while you use your
Amiga.

And for the player, I am trying to find one that Multitasks
nicely (escpecially with the modem going), and leaves the Chip Mem
pretty much intact (So I have two megs, that doesn’t meen it doesn’t
get fragmented…).

Right now I am flip-flopping between EDPlayer (1.1a) and IntiTracker
1.2.  EDPlayer has the nice MultiTasking, but some songs don’t sound right,
(Some instruments don’t play correctly (Listen to Axel-F or Hallucinations
and you will understand)).  But, on the other hand, IntiTracker plays
very nicely, but doesn’t MultiTask well (Keep that modem away! :) ),
so, there I am, stuck.

So, to sum up (This message is a tad longer than I expected)…
1) Favorite MODs (mention all you want, I’ll make more space on my HD)
2) Favorite players (and advantages and disadvantages)

Thanks!
